Changes to the Mayfacs Ukraine Support Hub from January 2023
Who would have thought we would be where we are today, this time last year?
We have made some lovely new friends and we are very proud of how many people we have managed to support with advice and clothing and household items as well as additional support financially, emotionally and socially.
We would like to let you know that the needs have now moved on from clothing and items, to a more support based service and we no longer need the Hub at the Shopping Basket in Mayfield. We have decided to let Joy have her home back! Thank you Joy for letting us have your space and home.
We are continuing with the English Lessons and we will be reviewing these regularly according to take up, but they have been invaluable and the feedback has been extremely positive. Please contact us for more details.
The email address Ukrainesupport@mayfacs.org.uk is still operational and we have our phone line which is checked on weekdays 01435 873888.
MAYFACS set up a Ukraine Support Hub within the parish of Mayfield and Five Ashes to support our new residents upon arrival to our community.
The Hub is a central place to come to get the important items our families may need when they arrive, and to get the information and support to help them to settle in the UK.
We will be organising specific activities for our Ukrainian friends, whilst also encouraging participation in some of the amazing activities already running within our community.
We are overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone in our parish, and we know that our new families feel the same!
